Corporate Events
A traditional bagpiper can be used at corporate events and at dinner presentations.
Having a piper is a highly visible and unique addition to your function, for instance, a piper can play as a presentation party goes into the function room and be available to play later on during the function.
A traditional bagpiper can also be used at an opening of new business premises; people will come when they hear well tune bagpipes being played well.
Funerals
Traditional bagpipers have been used at military and state funerals for centuries; piping is becoming more of a common feature at everyday funerals. The Bagpipes add a special touch to a funeral providing sweet haunting music. The sound of the bagpipe is the perfect send off for your loved ones.
A piper can play at the church and can walk in front of the hearse leading the funeral cars up the drive to the graveside or to the Crematorium. A piper can play after the coffin has been lowered into ground after the minister has said the last prayer.
At the Crematorium it is nice to have the piper walk through the room playing a lament as the curtains are being drawn.
Burns Night
Robert Burns was born in Alloway, Ayrshire on the 25th January 1759. Every year on the 25th January or around that date the world celebrates the life and work of the most famous of all Scottish poets, Robert Burns.
Every Burns night supper has its own special form or flavour, but the all share the common purpose of honouring Robert Burns.
No Burns night supper would be complete without a traditional bagpiper to pipe in the Haggis, the drinking of Scotch whisky, and the recitation of a Burns poem.
The piper will lead the procession of the Haggis into the room, which will be carried on a tray, the Haggis will be led to a table, where the address to the haggis will take place after which the traditional piper will sling back the whisky in one gulp. The piper will then play and lead the procession back out of the room. Later on as the supper is being eaten the piper will play a selection of tunes whilst blending in to the background.
